The real estate industry continues to change.
When I first started in this business (20+ years ago) we didn’t have the internet. We used TX machines which received and printed data via a role of “fax paper”. It took 3-5 days for fellow agents to become aware of a newly listed property and a week to 10 days for the public. Today we load a listing at the property (via computer) and everybody is aware within nanoseconds.
Technology has changed how we market and advertise our properties. Sellers need buyers in their property and buyers need sellers to choose from. That has not changed, nor has a sign in the ground telling the immediate neighbours and drive by’s a property is for sale.
Some real estate companies have changed from small offices (25-35 people) to mega offices (150-250 people). Real estate agents can work from home, their own office or from the company’s office.
